Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day

Love is in the air at Effort Trust!

Here is what some of the employees are doing this year;

"My daughter and I are spending Valentine's Day going shopping during the day and then we are going to watch a "girlie" movie and eat junk food at night.  My husband is working and then has a work function to attend."

"MY HUSBAND & I USUALLY GO OUT FOR DINNER FRIDAY NIGHT. NO FLOWERS- HE DID A NICE THING FOR ME THIS MORNING. WHEN I WENT OUT TO MY CAR IT WAS HEATED AND HE SCRAPED THE WINDOWS FOR ME. I ALSO SENT A VALENTINE FOR MY OTHER GUY- MY GRANDSON – HES 5 AND LOVES GETTING LETTERS IN THE MAIL."

"What am I doing;

Valentine's Partner Yoga at De La Sol on Sat, Feb 14, 2015 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

$35 for a single, $50 for a couple

'Join Chris & Kelly for this special Valentine's Partner workshop!'

In a traditional Yoga practice we are taught to focus on our own breath, our own mat and on our own bodies. Partner Yoga instead focuses on sharing space and movement with another person.

Explore the dynamics of a relationship, being supportive and strong but also fluid and adaptive; to be understanding and also to express your own needs….and then he is cooking me dinner!"

"What my husband is doing for me this Valentine's Day:  taking the kids to the movies so we can have girl's night at my house!"

"Growing up I knew who my future husband was. It was inevitable and no one could change my mind. People adored him and would pass out when he passed by…and whenever he looked in the camera, I knew deep down he was looking at me. But unfortunately he died before we ever had the chance to let our love bloom. What was his name you may ask? Michael…..Michael Jackson.

It took a long time to get over my lost love until I met my partner in crime….my "Smooth Criminal"…Greg. He's no "Billie Jean",   but he doesn't mind dancing to "Love never felt so good" or my favourite "Rock with you". So even though I lost my childhood love, I've found a little piece of MJ in him.

What can I say? "I'm a lover not a fighter."

And What Does It Mean?;

"Valentine's Day is the day that we are to tell that someone special how much they mean to us.  But you shouldn't only have one day to tell that special someone how much you love them.  You should do it every day.  Every night before you go to bed you should whisper good night my sweet angel. (or whatever pet name you have).

I read a story once and it was really sweet.  There was a couple who had been married for years and years.  He didn't give his wife flowers or chocolates for Valentines.  But he would sit his wife beside him and gently grab her hand and kiss her wedding band and tell her how much he loved her and say thank you for picking me.

You don't need roses, chocolate or diamonds; what you need is true and genuine love.  The person who will hold your hand when you need them the most; the person who you can tell your deepest and darkest secrets to and who will not run the other way; the person who you can laugh with and be your true self with.  That is what love is all about."

"Valentine Daughter:

A Valentine's Day Poem for Daughter

You're my wonderful daughter,

The gem of my life.

A joy and a pleasure,

Through good times and strife.

I love how you chip in,

When there's work to be done.

I love your cute laugh,

When you're just having fun.

I love everything about you,

And that's why I say,

Be my Valentine daughter,

Every Valentine's Day!
