Paralegal/Insurance Compliance Administrator

The Effort Trust Company is currently looking for a Paralegal at our office in Hamilton, Ontario. The Paralegal will be primarily responsible for scheduling upcoming hearing dates, coverage for LTB Hearings, process LTB Orders, prepare and file Eviction Request Forms.  They will also be responsible for ensuring all tenants provide proof of adequate insurance coverage.

Other Duties:

Monitor and track the receipt of insurance certificates from current tenants.

Ensure that the insurance coverage is adequate and meets the requirements of the lease.

Prepare and distribute reminder letters to tenants who fail to provide the proper proof on lease anniversary dates.

Other duties as required.

Skills & Qualifications:

Paralegal license in good standing preferred

Post-Secondary Education (minimum 2-year college business diploma)

1 to 3 years of experience in a similar role

Critical thinker

Experience with Landlord and Tenant Board matters and/or appearing before the Landlord and Tenant Board. Familiarity with the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006

Proficient keyboard skills for data input (emphasis on accuracy and speed)

Intermediate level knowledge of both Excel & Word

Excellent organizational, time management skills

Above average customer service skills

Highly effective communication skills, both oral and written

Ability to deal with tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality in a professional manner.

Positive and friendly attitude
